In the place where moonlight gathers,
And the clock is ticking twelve.
Here we gather one more time,
And I wish the hour never ends.
We speak words in utter silence,
But the time is late, and closing comes,
The bits won't fly, and we must away.

But in the loneliness of silence,
I wonder at her words and her grace.
For we have laughed until the end,
And with formal nights, we make amends.

"Knight" I shout in silence,
With tear drops on my heart.
We seek fair sleep and better dreams...
For all the long and broken night.
Then comes the sweet reply.
To cover your ears, for the dawn breaks
It comes once more, after dark.

We'll laugh a lot, with words
And rarely sound.
Sometimes it's silly,
But never wasted.

Well do I really know her?
How could I say a thing as this.
But do we ever know anyone?
Is it all just a ruse and
Will we ever lower the mask...
In utter silence as I write this,
I could see what time will never know.

What do we want from all this time?
